Azerbaijan, NATO explore boosting partnership
Jafar Huseynzada, head of Azerbaijan's mission to NATO has met with Rear Admiral Gunnstein Bruåsdal, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Partnerships Directorate at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), to discuss bilateral partnership between Azerbaijan and the alliance.
A statement shared on X by the Azerbaijani mission to NATO, the discussions focused on the ongoing partnership between Azerbaijan and NATO, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
The two officials explored opportunities for further collaboration and the strengthening of Azerbaijan-NATO ties.
Earlier, Baku hosted the “NATO Days 2024”, which saw the participation of representatives from the NATO Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), headed by Deputy Chief of Staff of the Partnerships Directorate at SHAPE, Rear Admiral Gunnstein Bruåsdal.
As part of the “NATO Days 2024” in Azerbaijan, the NATO delegation visited military educational institutions and one of the military units of Azerbaijan Armed Forces.
At the War Games Center of the Military Administration Institute of the National Defence University, the delegation observed a training session conducted by NATO's Mobile Training Team from the Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum under the Individual Partnership Cooperation Program for 2024.
Discussions during the visit focused on the progress of Azerbaijan-NATO relations, reforms within the Azerbaijan Army, and other topics of mutual interest.
The program concluded with the delegation observing combat training sessions by the Maritime Interdiction Operations Boarding Party, a unit declared under NATO’s Operational Capabilities Concept Program.
