Azerbaijan, NATO mull prospects for military cooperation
First Deputy Minister of Defence, Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev has met with a delegation led by Lieutenant General Max A.L.T. Nielsen, Commandant of the NATO Defense College (NDC), who is on a visit to the country.
During the meeting, Colonel General Valiyev highlighted the successful reforms implemented within the Azerbaijan Army, the army’s victory in the Patriotic War, and the application of the combat experience gained during subsequent military operations in the training of troops, Caliber.Az reports citing Azerbaijan’s Defence Ministry.
He also praised Azerbaijan’s ongoing cooperation with NATO through various programs, underscoring the importance of further strengthening these relations.
Lieutenant General Nielsen commended the contributions of Azerbaijan’s servicemen to NATO peacekeeping missions and other joint efforts.
The sides discussed the prospects for enhancing cooperation in military education and other areas of mutual interest.
