Azerbaijan naval chief visits Türkiye SAHA 2026 defence expo

The Commander of the Azerbaijan Naval Forces (ANF), Shahin Mammadov, has taken part in the SAHA 2026 defence and aerospace exhibition held in Istanbul, Türkiye, as Baku continues efforts to expand its military and industrial cooperation abroad.

Mammadov toured multiple exhibition stands alongside an Azerbaijani delegation, receiving briefings on new defence technologies and reviewing modern naval systems and military equipment on display, Caliber.Az reports per local media. 

During the visit, he also held a meeting with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Defence Industry, Vugar Mustafayev, where the two officials discussed the development prospects of the country’s defence sector. Talks focused on expanding military-technical cooperation, advancing joint projects, and strengthening Azerbaijan’s defence industrial capacity.

The discussions also highlighted the importance of integrating modern military technologies into Azerbaijan’s armed forces, with particular emphasis on enhancing the capabilities of the naval forces.
