Azerbaijan, Netherlands strengthen political, economic cooperation

Political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands have been held in The Hague, bringing together senior diplomats from both countries to discuss bilateral relations and key regional and international issues.

According to Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry, the Azerbaijani delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev, while the Dutch side was led by Vice Minister of Foregin Affairs Marcel de Vink, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

During the consultations, the sides reviewed the current state of Azerbaijan-Netherlands relations and explored prospects for further cooperation. Discussions focused on measures aimed at expanding bilateral ties, as well as a range of regional and global developments.

The participants underscored the importance of maintaining regular political dialogue through official visits, ongoing contacts, and meetings held on the sidelines of international events.

The sides also exchanged views on priority areas for strengthening economic cooperation. In addition, they highlighted the significance of enhancing collaboration in the fields of culture, science, and education as a means of fostering closer ties between the peoples of the two countries.

During the meeting, the Azerbaijani delegation provided information on the current situation in the South Caucasus region, the ongoing Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process, and the large-scale reconstruction, restoration, and demining activities being carried out in territories liberated from occupation.

The consultations further covered issues on the international agenda, including cooperation within multilateral organizations and mutual support for candidacies in international institutions.

The parties also exchanged views on a number of other regional and international matters of mutual interest, reaffirming their commitment to continued dialogue and cooperation.

As part of his visit to the Netherlands, Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev also held meetings with several Dutch officials and participated in a roundtable discussion organized by leading policy and research institutions.
