Azerbaijan, OECD strengthen ties with key discussions on cooperation

05 December 2024 19:45

Azerbaijan's Prime Minister Ali Asadov has met with a delegation led by Charles Donald, Chair of the Working Party on State Ownership and Privatisation Practices of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and Chief Executive of UK Government Investments.

The meeting, held at the Cabinet of Ministers, highlighted the positive state of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the OECD, Caliber.Az reports.

During the discussions, the sides reviewed joint projects, including the results of the corporate governance assessment in portfolio companies of the Azerbaijan Investment Holding Company.

Key issues concerning the expansion of cooperation in areas of mutual interest were also addressed, further strengthening the collaborative ties between Azerbaijan and the OECD.

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is an international organisation that works to build better policies for better lives. It draws on more than 60 years of experience and insights to shape policies that foster prosperity and opportunity, underpinned by equality and well-being.

The organization works closely with policy makers, stakeholders and citizens to establish evidence-based international standards and to find solutions to social, economic and environmental challenges. From improving economic performance and strengthening policies to fight climate change to bolstering education and fighting international tax evasion, the OECD is a unique forum and knowledge hub for data, analysis and best practices in public policy. Its core aim is to set international standards and support their implementation – and help countries forge a path towards stronger, fairer and cleaner societies.
