Azerbaijan assumes chairmanship of OIC Parliamentary Union Updated
Azerbaijan has formally assumed the chairmanship of the Parliamentary Union of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (POIC), with Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova taking over as head of the body during the opening of the union’s 20th conference in Baku.
The transfer of the chairmanship from Indonesia took place at the official opening ceremony of the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States, according to local media, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
More than 400 delegates from member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, along with representatives of international organisations, are attending the event in the Azerbaijani capital.

Indonesia has officially passed the chairmanship of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States to Azerbaijan.
The handover ceremony took place during the official opening of the 20th Session of the PUIC Conference in Baku, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
The event has brought together more than 400 delegates from member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, as well as representatives of international organisations.
