Azerbaijan, OIC discuss agenda issues

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has announced that Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a meeting with Assistant Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for Humanitarian, Cultural, Family and Social Affairs, Envoy of the Secretary-General for Afghanistan Tariq Ali Bakheet.

The sides discussed the agenda issues and prospects for relations between Azerbaijan and the OIC, as well as the OIC’s activity in Afghanistan, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Caliber.Az.

The importance of peace and stability in Afghanistan was emphasised during the discussions.

Tariq Ali Bakheet spoke about his negotiations and meetings on Afghanistan, as well as the OIC’s plans in the region.

During the meeting, the sides expressed satisfaction with the level of humanitarian, social and cultural cooperation between Azerbaijan and the OIC, and exchanged views on holding joint cultural events.
