On December 9, Azerbaijan inaugurated an official tourism representation office in Istanbul as part of efforts to deepen cooperation with Türkiye and promote its tourism brand more widely in the country, according to the State Tourism Agency.
Speaking at the event, Agency Chairman Fuad Naghiyev said the new office marks “a new stage” in bilateral collaboration and will help ensure the “systematic and effective” continuation of ties between the two nations.
Naghiyev noted the rising interest of Turkish travellers in Azerbaijan, adding that over the past five years, they have become the second-largest group of foreign visitors to the country.
Industry representatives from both sides also exchanged views on strengthening regional cooperation in tourism.
According to the State Tourism Agency, more than 416,000 Turkish citizens visited Azerbaijan in the first 11 months of 2025 — a 7% increase compared with the same period in 2024.
