Azerbaijan, OTS head eye organisation's priorities, agenda

24 October 2025 17:08

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Turkic States Organization (OTS) Secretary-General Kubanichbek Omuraliev discussed priorities of Baku’s chairmanship within the organisation.

During the meeting, the sides also eyed the organisation’s ongoing agenda, and plans for future cooperation, Caliber.Az reports per Foreign Ministry.

Minister Bayramov stressed that strengthening friendship, brotherhood, and cooperation across all fields within the OTS framework remains a key priority for Azerbaijan.

He reaffirmed the country’s support for initiatives and ideas aimed at realising the full potential of the organisation, including the further development of the OTS secretariat and expanding observer status in international organisations.

Both sides highlighted the significance of last year’s unofficial summit held in Shusha, the adoption of the Karabakh Declaration during the summit, and the decisions made at this year’s summit in Gabala, emphasising their importance for multifaceted cooperation within the organisation. Secretary-General Omuraliev extended his congratulations to Azerbaijan on successfully hosting these events.

The meeting also reviewed progress on initiatives put forward by Azerbaijan during the Gabala summit, and the parties exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
