Azerbaijan, Pakistan cement future cooperation in high-level talks
Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif recently received a delegation led by Azerbaijan's Minister of Defence Industry, Vugar Mustafayev, who is also the co-chairman of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Intergovernmental Joint Commission.
Mustafayev was in Pakistan for an official visit to participate in the eighth meeting of the Commission, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Prime Minister Sharif warmly welcomed the Azerbaijani delegation, expressing his satisfaction with the growing and successful partnership between the two nations. He highlighted the deepening cooperation and praised the bilateral relations that continue to flourish.
Mustafayev expressed gratitude for Pakistan's hospitality and the favourable conditions for expanding bilateral ties. He conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Sharif and the people of Pakistan.
The Minister emphasised the longstanding friendly and strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, noting that the relationship has continuously developed thanks to the purposeful policies and joint efforts of the two countries' leaders. He underscored that this cooperation significantly contributes to the prosperity and progress of both nations.
In response, Prime Minister Sharif asked Mustafayev to extend his warm greetings and best wishes to President Ilham Aliyev and the Azerbaijani people.
The two leaders acknowledged the importance of the Intergovernmental Joint Commission's work in further strengthening bilateral relations.
They discussed the ongoing successful initiatives aimed at expanding multifaceted cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan and explored other issues of mutual interest to ensure the state interests of both countries are effectively addressed.
