Azerbaijan, Pakistan discuss strategic cooperation, regional issues in Islamabad PHOTO
The Azerbaijani delegation headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov and the Pakistani delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister Amna Baloch have exchanged views on cooperation in various areas.
The fourth round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and Pakistan was held in Islamabad on January 23, the Azerbaijani foreign ministry told Caliber.Az.
The sides exchanged views on cooperation in various areas, including politics, trade, economy, agriculture, education, culture, energy, tourism, and others. The importance of mutual visits was highlighted, emphasising their positive impact on the development of bilateral relations.
Mammadov provided the Pakistani side with detailed information about Azerbaijan's peace agenda, the process of normalising relations with Armenia, investment projects and the reconstruction efforts in the territories liberated from occupation. The sides exchanged views on Azerbaijan and Pakistan's cooperation within international platforms, as well as regional and other issues of mutual interest.
As part of his visit to Islamabad, Mammadov met with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar. During the meeting, the importance of developing strategic cooperation between the two countries and the implementation of high-level mutual visits was emphasised. On January 24, Mammadov also participated in and delivered a speech at the 8th session of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Joint Intergovernmental Commission.
