Azerbaijan parliament speaker meets US congressman to discuss bilateral ties

Speaker of Azerbaijan's parliament, the Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova, met with U.S. Congressman Abraham Hamadeh to discuss the current state and future prospects of relations between Azerbaijan and the United States.

According to the Milli Majlis, the two sides reviewed bilateral cooperation and noted the continued development of ties based on mutual respect, shared interests, and a commitment to peace, security, and progress, Caliber.Az reports. 

During the meeting, Gafarova highlighted the significance of recent visits by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Washington and his meetings with U.S. President Donald Trump, describing them as important milestones in advancing bilateral relations.

Hamadeh underscored the importance of U.S.-Azerbaijan relations and noted their growing dynamism across a range of sectors.

The discussions also focused on strengthening parliamentary cooperation between Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis and the U.S. Congress as part of broader efforts to deepen engagement between the two countries.
