Azerbaijan prepares large-scale pavilion as WUF13 brings 41 nations to Baku
At the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) to be held in Baku from May 17 to 22, some 41 countries will present their national pavilions, Adil Mammadov, executive director of the Azerbaijani WUF13 operating company, has stated.
He said the Urban Expo exhibition area will cover 3.5 hectares, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
He noted that the zone will host pavilions of countries, international organisations, government bodies, local and regional authorities, as well as private sector representatives, NGOs, foundations, and educational and research institutions.
“Azerbaijan’s pavilion will cover an area of 1,500 square metres,” he added.
Mammadov also said that representatives of municipalities from approximately 14 countries will take part in the event.
The WUF13 forum is being organised in close cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) and aims to facilitate the exchange of international experience in sustainable urban development, “smart cities,” and innovative urban solutions.
