Azerbaijan promoting tourism opportunities in Germany PHOTO

Azerbaijan’s tourism potential has been presented at the "ITB Berlin" international exhibition in Germany.

Some 15 partners, including the Azerbaijan Hotel Association, Azerbaijan Airlines company, Absheron Hotel Group, InterContinental Baku and a number of leading tourism agencies, will hold business meetings with representatives of various countries until March 9 to promote the country's tourism opportunities and establish cooperation, organised by the State Tourism Agency and the Azerbaijan Tourism Board.

On the first day of the exhibition, Chief Executive Officer of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board Florian Sengstschmid gave an interview to such well-known media as Euronews, Connoisseur Circle, Touristik Aktuell, the State Tourism Agency told AZERTAG.

A presentation of the programme entitled "Hotel Sustainability Basics" of the World Travel and Tourism Council was held at Azerbaijan’s national stand. While speaking at the event, President of this Council Julia Simpson expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan as a partner country of the programme, and to the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, which assumed this responsibility.

On the second day of the exhibition, the world-famous global tourism platform Expedia Group, which cooperates with the Azerbaijan Tourism Board and allows to book online flights, hotels, tour packages and tourist trips, will hold an event at which it is planned to present Expedia Group’s cooperation with Azerbaijan as a successful example for the tourism industry.

The materials promoting such tourism products of the country as culture, nature, food and wine were posted on the above-mentioned platform in June-December 2022 for the markets of Germany, India, the UK and the Middle East.
