Azerbaijan promoting tourism opportunities in India PHOTO
Azerbaijan's tourism opportunities are demonstrated at the OTM Mumbai 2024 exhibition thanks to the Azerbaijani State Tourism Agency together and the Azerbaijan Tourism Board.
The exhibition kicked off in the Indian city of Mumbai on February 8 and will last until February 10. The visitors are informed about Azerbaijan’s historical and cultural heritage, the potential of gastro-tourism, tourist destinations and winter tourism, ski resorts, winemaking, healthcare and ecotourism, the Azerbaijani State Tourism Agency told Azertac.
B2B meetings related to the promotion of tourism in Azerbaijan are being held at the national stand by the representatives of Azerbaijan Airlines company, the Shahdag Mountain Resort, as well as 15 representatives of the local tourism agencies. The cooperation opportunities are being discussed.
In total, more than 1,600 travel companies from 60 countries are represented at the exhibition.
The tourists from India ranked fourth among citizens of foreign countries who arrived in Azerbaijan in 2023. Over the past year, 117,302 Indian citizens arrived in Azerbaijan, which is 93 per cent more than in 2022 and 80 per cent more than in 2019.
