Azerbaijan reaffirms commitment to Ukraine’s recovery efforts in diplomatic talks
Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister Oleksandr Mishchenko held a meeting with Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Ukraine, Seymur Mardaliyev, during which the two officials reviewed the state of bilateral relations and ongoing cooperation.
As reported by domestic media, both sides reaffirmed their continued support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and Azerbaijan. They also discussed priority areas of bilateral cooperation across sectors of mutual interest.
The meeting additionally addressed coordination within international organisations. In light of Azerbaijan’s current chairmanship of the Organisation for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM, the diplomats focused particular attention on preparations for the next session of the GUAM Council of Foreign Ministers.
Mishchenko expressed Ukraine’s gratitude for the humanitarian assistance provided by Azerbaijan, noting that this support has been especially significant for the country’s energy sector and for efforts to restore civilian infrastructure. The total value of Azerbaijan’s humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, including reconstruction-related support, has now exceeded $46 million.
Ambassador Mardaliyev, in turn, reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s readiness to continue expanding its practical assistance to Ukraine and to further strengthen cooperation between Baku and Kyiv.
