Azerbaijan rejects false border tension claims, warns citizens against misinformation Joint statement of the SGB and MEDIA
Over recent days, some social media platforms have published ungrounded and untrue information about increasing tension on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border, martyrs and wounded in the Azerbaijani army, putting troops and heavy artillery on alert, imposing curfew on the territory of Lachin District.
Caliber.Az was informed by the State Security Service that as a result of the SSS investigation, it was established that this information was disseminated by Azerbaijani citizens Aliyev Rashad Balaga oglu (born in 1977) and Malikov Parviz Ramiz oglu (born in 1973). Necessary legal measures have been taken against them.
The SSS and the Media Development Agency (MEDIA) warn that committing these actions entails serious responsibility, call on media outlets and journalists not to use inaccurate and unreliable information published on social networks, and citizens to rely only on information based on official sources.
