Azerbaijan reports significant growth in passenger car production
The production of passenger cars in Azerbaijan has seen remarkable growth over the past year, with a total of 5,225 vehicles manufactured between January and November 2024.
This marks a 66.6% increase, or 2,088 additional units, compared to the same period in 2023, according to the State Statistics Committee, Caliber.Az reports.
Despite this notable progress in the passenger car sector, other areas of vehicle production experienced declines. Tractor production fell by 13.6%, with only 535 units produced, while truck manufacturing slightly decreased by 0.5%, amounting to 576 units.
As of December 1, 2024, company inventories included 207 passenger cars, 11 tractors, and 23 trucks, reflecting the production trends of the year.
The machinery and transport equipment sectors, including automobiles, trailers, and semi-trailers, generated a total production value of 725.8 million manats during the first 11 months of 2024. This represents a 56.6% increase in the production of automobiles, trailers, and semi-trailers compared to the previous year.
