Azerbaijan, Russia discuss boosting transport, economic cooperation

Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov held talks with Russian Railways Director General Oleg Belozerov on November 26 to review the outlook for bilateral economic cooperation, with a particular focus on transport and logistics ties.

The two sides underscored the importance of strengthening collaboration between their railway sectors and continuing joint efforts to expand the region’s transit potential, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Cabinet of Ministers.

They highlighted the need for coordinated development of infrastructure along the International North-South Transport Corridor, as well as measures to ensure sustained growth in freight volumes along the route.

Rovshan Rustamov, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, also took part in the meeting.
