Azerbaijan, Russia hold talks on bilateral cooperation at 22nd parliamentary meeting Photo
The 22nd session of the Azerbaijan-Russia Interparliamentary Commission took place in Baku, marking a significant milestone in the bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament, Sahiba Gafarova, and Chair of the Federation Council of Russia, Valentina Matviyenko, attended the opening ceremony, Caliber.Az reports.
They emphasised the importance of interparliamentary relations and highlighted the efforts of deputies within the framework of the commission.
Co-chairs of the commission, First Deputy Speaker of the Milli Majlis (parliament), Ali Ahmedov, and First Deputy Chair of the Federation Council, Andrei Yatskin, presented the agenda for the meeting. Participants discussed pressing issues surrounding bilateral cooperation and shared their respective proposals.
In addition to the parliamentary discussions, a meeting was held between Gafarova and Matviyenko, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan. During their one-on-one conversation, the Russian official awarded Gafarova the Order of Friendship of the Russian Federation in recognition of her contribution to strengthening ties between the two countries.
The session was attended by members of both parliaments and representatives of government bodies, reflecting the ongoing commitment to fostering collaboration between Azerbaijan and Russia.
