Azerbaijan, Russia hold talks on shared water resources of Samur river PHOTO
Officials from Azerbaijan and Russia have held the 29th meeting of their Joint Commission on the Allocation of Water Resources of the transboundary Samur river, focusing on water management and bilateral cooperation.
The meeting took place on July 9 in Azerbaijan's Gusar district and was co-chaired by Zakir Guliyev, chairman of the Regional Land Reclamation Service under the Azerbaijan State Agency for Water Resources (ADSEA), and Vadim Nikonorov, deputy head of Russia's Federal Agency for Water Resources, Caliber.Az reports.
According to ADSEA, the two sides discussed the allocation and monitoring of the Samur River's water resources, the joint operation of the Samur Hydropower Complex, and other areas of cooperation related to the shared river basin.
The participants also outlined future steps to strengthen bilateral coordination and signed a protocol following the meeting.
