Azerbaijan, Russia to resume direct flights on several routes
Azerbaijan and Russia are set to restore direct air services on several routes in the near future, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov following bilateral talks in Moscow, Bayramov said the resumed flights would include routes that had been suspended after the tragic incident involving an Azerbaijani civilian aircraft in December 2024, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The minister did not specify which routes would be reinstated or provide a timetable for the resumption of services.
The announcement comes as Baku and Moscow continue discussions aimed at maintaining bilateral transport links despite recent challenges.
Air connections between the two countries were curtailed following the December 2024 aircraft incident, which led to restrictions on a number of routes.
