Azerbaijan’s Deputy Defence Minister and Air Force Commander, Lieutenant General Namig Islamzade, is on an official visit to Türkiye.

As part of the visit, Islamzade attended a number of events within the framework of the international flight-tactical exercise “Anatolian Eagle - 2026” and met with participating personnel, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan's Defence Ministry.

Colonel Zaur Mammadov, who leads the Azerbaijani delegation, briefed the Air Force commander on the progress of the exercise and the tasks being carried out. The deputy defence minister highly praised the professionalism demonstrated by the personnel during the drills.

Islamzade later held talks with Turkish Air Force Commander Ziya Cemal Kadıoğlu.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and future prospects of cooperation between the two countries in military aviation and emphasised the importance of joint exercises and the exchange of experience.

The commanders of the Azerbaijani and Turkish Air Forces also observed parts of the exercise from the air before inspecting military equipment and weapons displayed at an exhibition held as part of the drills.
