Azerbaijan’s border cavalry, orchestra take centre stage at UAE's 54th anniversary PHOTO
Cavalry units of Azerbaijan’s State Border Service, along with the national dance ensemble and orchestra, took part in a ceremonial event in Abu Dhabi marking the 54th anniversary of the United Arab Emirates.
Their performance showcased Azerbaijan’s rich cultural heritage and ancient traditions to a global audience, Caliber.Az reports via the State Border Service of Azerbaijan.
The noble posture of Karabakh horses, dazzling dance routines, and live orchestral music added a distinctive flair to the celebration.
The event was attended by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates established formal diplomatic relations on September 1, 1992 — shortly after the UAE recognised Azerbaijan’s independence.
Over the years, their cooperation expanded from diplomatic contact to broad economic, cultural, and energy partnerships.
In 2025, they elevated relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership, signing multiple agreements in energy, technology, infrastructure and trade, reflecting growing mutual trust and shared interests.
The UAE has become a major investor in Azerbaijan’s non‑oil and renewable energy sectors, while bilateral trade and exchange in tourism, culture and technology deepen, making the UAE Azerbaijan’s top Arab trade and investment partner.
