Azerbaijan’s border chief discusses cooperation with British top official PHOTO
British Minister of State for Europe and North America Leo Docherty, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, has met with the First Deputy Head of Azerbaijan’s State Border Service, Chief of General Staff, Lt. Gen. Rashad Sadigov.
During the meeting on February 22, the parties discussed cooperation between the State Border Service and relevant departments of the UK on border security and exchanged views on ensuring border security, including maritime border protection, Caliber.Az reports, citing the service.
Docherty was informed about the restoration of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity as a result of the brilliant victory in the 2020 Second Karabakh War led by President Ilham Aliyev, about organizing the protection of the state border in the liberated territories, about creating the necessary infrastructure here.
At the meeting, the importance of such visits and exchange of experience from the point of view of the development of bilateral relations was emphasized, an agreement was reached to continue cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
During the visit, the guest got acquainted with the main command and control centre, shipbuilding and ship repair centres of the coast guard of the State Border Service, as well as with the technical capabilities of the border patrol ship of the 2nd rank.
