Azerbaijan’s CEC discloses number of observers registered for presidential election
Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov said that 86,490 observers have been registered to monitor the snap presidential election in Azerbaijan scheduled for February 7.
The CEC chairman noted that of those 790 are the international observers, Caliber.Az reports.
Panahov added that 119 employees of 63 media organizations from Japan, Italy, Germany, Türkiye, Russia and other countries expressed their desire to cover the electoral process.
"I am absolutely sure that voting will be transparent. At least 10 cameras are needed to film the voting booth from inside. Some people claim that cameras are put up to keep an eye on people. This is absurd. Webcams at polling stations are not installed for this purpose," the chairman of the commission noted.
