Azerbaijan’s defence industry minister holds talks with global partners at Riyadh expo PHOTO
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Defence Industry, Vugar Mustafayev, has held a series of high-level meetings at the World Defence Show-2026 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Mustafayev met with senior officials from Saudi Arabia, including the head of the General Authority for Military Industries, Ahmad bin Abdulaziz Al-Ohali, and the country’s Deputy Minister of Defence, Khalid bin Hussein Al-Biyari, Caliber.Az reports citing the Ministry of Defence Industry.
He also held discussions with Mansurjon Ibodullaev, Director of Uzbekistan’s Defence Industry Agency, and Muhammad Chirag Haidar, Secretary of Pakistan’s Ministry of Defence Production.
In addition, Mustafayev engaged with executives from leading American defence firms, including General Dynamics, Teledyne-FLIR, and Ansys, to explore opportunities for cooperation in the defence sector.
During the meetings, participants highlighted the growing importance of combining industrial capacity with scientific research, innovation, and flexible management models.
They stressed that keeping pace with technological advances and adopting best practices would be essential for the dynamic development of the defence industry.
The World Defence Show-2026 in Riyadh runs until February 12.
