Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence unveils modern military facilities PHOTO

Following the directive of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ilham Aliyev, efforts to strengthen the material and technical capabilities of the Azerbaijan Army, enhance living conditions for personnel, and boost professional training continue successfully.

The leadership of the Ministry of Defence participated in the inauguration of administrative facilities at the Engineer-Fortification Centre of the Engineering Troops, the Psychological Support Department, the Baku Military Psychological Health Centre, and the Legal Department, Caliber.Az reports via the defence ministry.

They also reviewed the ongoing works at the Baku Military College under the National Defence University and visited the Emergency Medical Service Unit of the Ministry’s Main Clinical Hospital.

The newly opened Engineer-Fortification Centre has been equipped with modern simulator systems for training junior specialists and conducting mine-clearance operations.

After inspecting the centre’s facilities, the leadership visited the fire-fighting depot, guardroom, vehicle park, and storage areas for engineering combat munitions, military-technical equipment, rockets, artillery weapons, ammunition, and other supplies. They also examined the combat training ranges used for hands-on exercises within the Engineering Troops.

Additionally, newly procured engineering armaments and advanced mechanical mine-clearance equipment were presented to the leadership, accompanied by detailed briefings on their tactical and technical features, as well as operational capabilities.

The fully renovated administrative buildings of the Psychological Support Department and the Baku Military Psychological Health Centre, newly established as part of staff and structural reforms carried out to maintain the high-level psychological training of the Azerbaijan Army's personnel, were commissioned.

Specialised therapy rooms were created to enhance psychological resilience, provide post-trauma recovery support, and serve as workspaces for military psychologists and methodological development.

Finally, the leadership attended the opening of the newly constructed administrative building of the Legal Department. The department operates under defence legislation, managing a range of military legal issues, offering legal guidance to personnel, combating military offences, and addressing matters related to international law. Its primary mission is to provide comprehensive legal support to the activities of troops and units under the Ministry of Defence while ensuring adherence to the law.
