Azerbaijan’s Defence Minister offers condolences on death of Iranian military chief
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Defence, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, has extended his condolences following the death of Lieutenant General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In an official message, Hasanov expressed his sorrow over the passing of the top Iranian commander, who played a prominent role in shaping Iran’s military leadership in recent years, Caliber.Az reports citing Defence Ministry.
“I am deeply saddened by the news of the demise of Lieutenant General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” said Hasanov.
Recalling his acquaintance with Bagheri, the Azerbaijani defence chief highlighted the late general’s professional qualities and character.
“Muhammad Bagheri, whom I knew personally and who was always distinguished by his professionalism and pleasant attitude, will be remembered with fond memories,” he noted.
Hasanov extended his condolences to Bagheri’s family and loved ones, adding, “I express my deepest condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased and wish them patience. May Allah have mercy upon him!”
