Azerbaijan's defence minister offers condolences to Kazakh counterpart over Mi-8 helicopter crash
Azerbaijan's Minister of Defence, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, has sent a letter of condolences to his Kazakh counterpart, Colonel General Ruslan Zhaksylykov, following the tragic crash of a Mi-8 military helicopter during a training exercise on November 9.
In his letter, Minister Hasanov expressed deep sorrow over the incident, which occurred in the Aktobe region of Kazakhstan, resulting in the death of one crew member and injuries to others, Caliber.Az reports.
"I am deeply saddened by the news that as a result of the helicopter crash that occurred in the Aktobe region of the Republic of Kazakhstan, one of the crew members died and the rest were injured.
I pray to Almighty Allah for the repose of the soul of the deceased serviceman and express my deepest condolences to his family. I wish healing to all the wounded.
May Allah rest the soul of the deceased serviceman in peace!" the letter notes.
On November 9, a Mi-8 helicopter belonging to the Ministry of Defence of Kazakhstan was forced to make a hard landing while conducting a training flight. The helicopter had three crew members on board, two of whom were hospitalized with injuries. Tragically, one crew member lost his life in the incident.
Initial reports suggest that the cause of the crash was a technical malfunction. The incident took place in the Aktobe region of Kazakhstan.
