Azerbaijan's defence ministry holds year-end meeting with foreign military attaches PHOTO
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence has held a year-end meeting with military attache staff from foreign countries accredited in Azerbaijan, the ministry announced.
The event, hosted by the Department of International Military Cooperation, brought together 41 representatives from 28 nations.
Colonel Elchin Abdullaev, head of the department, highlighted Azerbaijan’s victory in the 44-day Patriotic War. He said the success not only restored the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity but also contributed to international peace and historical justice.
Colonel Abdullaev added that the victory helped foster reconciliation both between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Armenia and within the wider international community.
The meeting also reviewed military cooperation activities carried out in 2025, including a parade marking the fifth anniversary of the Patriotic War victory, held on November 8 at Azadliq Square in Baku with the participation of foreign military attache staff. Attendees received detailed briefings on tours organised to showcase reconstruction efforts in liberated regions across the country.
Participants exchanged views on planned activities for the coming year and broader future initiatives, with questions from foreign military attache staff addressed in detail.
