Azerbaijan’s defence ministry: Iran launched four drones targeting Nakhchivan
The Azerbaijani Defence Ministry has said that Iran launched four unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) against the country's Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan.
The ministry said that the Islamic Republic of Iran’s statement that it respects the sovereignty of all countries, particularly Muslim and neighbouring states, and denying any involvement in the attacks is unacceptable and demanded that Tehran issue an apology, Caliber.Az reports.
According to the ministry, one of the drones was neutralised by Azerbaijani forces, while the others struck civilian infrastructure. One drone targeted a secondary school during class hours but failed to reach its target, crashing and exploding on the ground near the school.
The ministry urged Iranian authorities to end a “blatant denial” of the attacks, to issue an official apology, and to hold those responsible accountable.
