Azerbaijan’s Defence Ministry outlines vision for modern military communication Video
Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defence hosted a high-level event this week, uniting officials, NGOs, and experts to discuss developments in military communication and public engagement.
The event opened with a minute’s silence in honour of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the Shehids—those who gave their lives for Azerbaijan’s independence and territorial integrity, Caliber.Az reports, citing Defence Ministry.
This was followed by the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Attendees were briefed on the Ministry of Defence’s newly approved Communication Strategy, endorsed by Defence Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov. Officials highlighted that strategic communication is now a key pillar of the country’s broader military reform programme and is being aligned with contemporary standards and innovative practices.
A series of thematic presentations followed, covering topics such as collaboration with government agencies and NGOs, safeguarding state secrets in the media landscape, and managing public correspondence. In addition, participants were updated on recent advancements in military education, including the role of special educational institutions under the National Defence University and details surrounding admissions procedures.
The session concluded with a wide-ranging exchange of views, during which suggestions were noted and questions from guests were addressed.
