Azerbaijan's FM Bayramov hosts new Palestinian ambassador Photo
On April 17, Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister, Jeyhun Bayramov, received the newly appointed Ambassador of Palestine to Azerbaijan, Ahmad Metani, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, Ambassador Metani presented a copy of his credentials to Minister Bayramov, Caliber.Az reports per Foreign Ministry.
Bayramov congratulated Metani on his appointment and expressed best wishes for his success in his diplomatic role within Azerbaijan.
The two sides discussed a range of issues, including bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Palestine.
They also addressed the ongoing situation in the Middle East, particularly in Gaza, and exchanged views on measures to promote regional peace and stability during the post-conflict recovery phase.
To recall, on March 17, Bayramov met with outgoing Palestinian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Nasir Abdul Karim, to mark the completion of his diplomatic term. Minister Bayramov expressed gratitude for Abdul Karim’s contributions to Azerbaijani-Palestinian relations and wished him success in future endeavours.
He also congratulated the ambassador on receiving the Order of Dostluq (Friendship) from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for his role in fostering bilateral relations. The discussion focused on the state of bilateral and multilateral cooperation and the regional situation.
Abdul Karim, who served nearly 14 years in Azerbaijan, thanked President Aliyev for the honour and the support he received during his tenure.
