Azerbaijan’s foreign minister receives outgoing Colombian ambassador
Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Colombia’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Luis Fernando Cuartas Ayala, as the diplomat concludes his tenure in the country.
The meeting took place on December 22 and focused on the current state and prospects of bilateral relations between the two countries, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
Mr Bayramov welcomed the development of Azerbaijan–Colombia ties and thanked the ambassador for his contribution to strengthening cooperation during his diplomatic mission. Both sides underlined the importance of maintaining political dialogue through mutual visits, contacts, and political and consular consultations.
The Azerbaijani foreign minister also recalled his recent meeting with Colombia’s Foreign Minister Luis Gilberto Murillo on the sidelines of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP29), noting that such high-level engagements play a key role in advancing both bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
The discussions highlighted cooperation between Azerbaijan and Colombia within international organisations, including the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement.
Mr Bayramov praised Ambassador Cuartas Ayala’s role in promoting bilateral relations and wished him success in his future endeavours. The two sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
