Azerbaijan’s Gazakh District hails liberation of villages with joyful demo PHOTO
The residents of Gazakh District in western Azerbaijan have embraced with immense joy the long-awaited return of Baganis Ayrim, Ashagi Askipara, Kheyrimli, and Gizilhadzhili villages, which had been under Armenian occupation since the early 1990s.
In celebration of this historic moment, a group of residents organized a demonstration, Report says.
The streets and avenues of Gazakh city were adorned with Azerbaijani flags as cars paraded through, symbolizing the collective jubilation. Amidst the festivities, residents expressed heartfelt gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for his unwavering dedication and the successful liberation of Azerbaijani territories.
On 19 April 2024, the eighth meeting of the State Commission on Delimitation of the State Border between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the Commission on Delimitation of the State Border and Border Security of Armenia and Armenia-Azerbaijan State Border was held on the border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev and Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Mher Grigoryan.
During the meeting, the commissions agreed on several issues, including the return of four previously occupied villages of Gazakh District to Azerbaijan.
