Azerbaijan’s humanitarian aid crucial for Ukraine, says ambassador
Ukraine’s ambassador to Baku, Yuriy Husyev, has underlined the importance of humanitarian assistance provided by Azerbaijan, describing it as vital for Ukraine, particularly during the winter months.
Speaking to reporters, Husyev expressed gratitude to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the Azerbaijani people, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“We greatly value your support. The humanitarian aid package is very important to us, especially following Russian attacks on our energy infrastructure,” he said.
The ambassador also voiced solidarity with Azerbaijan on the anniversary of “Black January” — the violent crackdown in Baku on 20 January 1990.
“We always stand with the Azerbaijani people and support the country’s territorial integrity, sovereignty and freedom,” Husyev added.
Earlier, on January 20, a new shipment of electrical equipment was sent from the Sumgayit Technology Park in Azerbaijan to Ukraine as part of the humanitarian aid programme.
The consignment includes 12 low-voltage panels, 11 generators, five transformers, and 27,000 metres of cables and wiring. The total value of the aid, provided in response to a Ukrainian request, is estimated at $1 million.
