Azerbaijan's Independence Day marked in Tel Aviv PHOTO
The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Israel has organized an event in Tel Aviv marking May 28 - the country's Independence Day.
Addressing the event, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Israel Mukhtar Mammadov highlighted the exceptional achievements of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic founded in 1918 and multicultural environment in the country, AZERTAC reports.
He pointed out the work carried out by the leadership of modern Azerbaijan to ensure the country's independence and sovereignty. The Ambassador talked of the heroic sons of the Azerbaijani people who gave their lives for the state flag of Azerbaijan to be raised in all corners of the country, and informed the event participants of President Ilham Aliyev's far-sighted policy in political, economic, military, social and humanitarian spheres.
The event featured a concert program of classical Azerbaijani musical works and folk songs. In addition, video clips prepared by Azerbaijan Television and Baku Media Center were shown.
A special contest held with the support of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC was organized for the participants of the event. The winners were awarded two air tickets for the Tel Aviv-Baku flight.
