Azerbaijan's Ministry on reason for blocking Russia’s "RIA Novosti"
The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan has commented on the restriction of access to the information Internet resource of the RIA Novosti agency in the country.
The ministry noted that the restriction of access to Internet information resources due to the cases of posting information, the distribution of which is prohibited in the country, is regulated by the Law on Information, Informatization and Information Protection, according to Report.
In accordance with this law, access to an online information resource or its relevant part is limited by decision of the relevant executive authority in the event of a threat to the legally protected interests of the state and society.
The dissemination of information directed against the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, promoting slanderous and separatist tendencies by this agency, is not the first time and is of a systemic nature.
The dissemination by RIA Novosti of information directed against the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, promoting slanderous and separatist tendencies, is a violation of the requirements of the law "On Information, Informatization and Protection of Information", and on the basis of this law of Azerbaijan, access to the Internet resource of this agency is limited in the country.
