Azerbaijan’s new envoy to Türkiye takes first diplomatic step

Newly appointed Azerbaijani Ambassador to Türkiye Rashad Aslanov has presented copies of his credentials to Mustafa Cem Gündüz, Deputy Director of the Protocol Department at Türkiye’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“Today, I was very pleased to present copies of my credentials to Mustafa Cem Gündüz, Deputy Director of the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye,” Aslanov wrote on X, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

Aslanov’s appointment to Türkiye followed an order signed by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on July 24. Under the order, Aslanov was recalled from his post as Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Italy and appointed the country’s ambassador to Türkiye.
