Azerbaijan's Ombudsperson concerned over global indifference to human rights violations
The global community remains indifferent to the widespread violations of human rights, Azerbaijan's Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) Sabina Aliyeva said.
She made this statement during an event marking International Human Rights Day on December 10, Caliber.Az reports citing local media.
Aliyeva highlighted that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which marks its 76th anniversary this year, has led to positive changes in the protection of human rights.
"This year, important measures have been implemented to protect human rights, especially the right to live in a healthy environment," she noted.
During the event, awards were presented to the winners of the competition on the theme "Climate Change and Human Rights," organized by the Azerbaijani Ombudsman in the categories of "Journalism" and "Children's Artwork."
