Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) Sahiba Gafarova has held separate meetings in Baku with the ambassadors of the United Kingdom and Greece, focusing on bilateral cooperation and inter-parliamentary ties.

In talks with UK Ambassador Fergus Auld, both sides reviewed the steady development of relations between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom across political, economic, humanitarian and other areas, Caliber.Az reports, citing the press service of Milli Majlis.

It was noted that the United Kingdom remains one of Azerbaijan’s principal trading partners and a leading investor in its economy, with particular emphasis placed on cooperation in the energy sector.

Ambassador Auld expressed satisfaction with the close partnership between the two countries and highlighted further opportunities for cooperation in energy, renewable energy, education, green technologies, and related fields.

In a separate meeting with Greek Ambassador Maria K. Papakonstantinou, discussions centred on the multifaceted nature of bilateral relations and the importance of sustained political dialogue, alongside high-level visits and exchanges.

The two sides also reviewed inter-parliamentary cooperation, including engagement within international organisations such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, NATO Parliamentary Assembly, and the Organisation of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation.
