Azerbaijani speaker receives first-ever Georgian honour medal

Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili has awarded his Azerbaijani counterpart an honorary medal, marking the first such recognition in the institution’s history.

Papuashvili presented the award to the Speaker of the Milli Majlis (parliament) of Azerbaijan, Sahiba Gafarova, for her contribution to the development of cooperation between the two countries, Caliber.Az reports per Georgian media.

Gafarova became the first recipient of the new award, which was established under the updated regulations of the Georgian parliament.
