Azerbaijan's railroad operator recycles several hundred carriages Another new eco-project / VIDEO

The national railroad operator “Azerbaijan Railways” is continuing their efforts of utilizing decommissioned carriages and other transport vehicles.

As reported by Caliber.Az referring to the civil company’s press service, 110 old refrigerated cars from the “Yeni Alat” station have been released as scrap metal in June-July of this year.

The dismantling of 24 more such cars in the depot of the “Alyat” station has begun, with the disposal of cars at the sorting station, named after Haji Zeynalabdin Taghiyev, to be carried out by the end of the year.

A total of 15,852 rail vehicles have been scrapped since 2015.

Additionally, the national railways are working on several projects for the purchase of environmentally friendly trains.
