Azerbaijan’s Shusha, South Korea's Andong become twin cities PHOTO
Shusha, the cultural capital of Azerbaijan, and the South Korean city of Andong have become sister cities.
According to Report, the relevant memorandum was signed by Aydin Karimov, special representative of the Azerbaijani President in the Shusha district, and Kwon Ki Chang, mayor of Andong.
"According to the signed document, the two sister cities intend to develop cultural, social and economic relations, as well as friendly ties and expand areas of joint activities," Aydin Karimov wrote on Twitter.
Earlier, South Korea's Andong hosted the opening ceremony of the 18th World Conference of the League of Historical Cities (LHC), where a protocol of intent on cooperation between Shusha and a number of historic cities, such as South Korea’s Andong, Peru’s Cusco, and Greece’s Corinth was signed.
