Azerbaijan’s top military official extends condolences to Türkiye over plane crash
Azerbaijan’s First Deputy Defence Minister and Chief of the General Staff, Colonel General Karim Valiyev, has conveyed his condolences to Chief of the General Staff of Türkiye, Army General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, in the wake of a military plane crash.
“I am deeply saddened by the news of the crash of a Turkish Air Force C130 military cargo plane on the Georgia-Azerbaijan border, which had departed from Azerbaijan. I extend my condolences to the families of the fallen service members and share in their grief. May Allah rest their souls in peace.” Valiyev stated, Caliber.Az reports.
According to a statement from the Turkish Ministry of Defence, a C130 military cargo plane, departing from Azerbaijan for Türkiye, crashed near the Georgia–Azerbaijan border.
“A C130 military cargo plane belonging to Türkiye, which departed from Azerbaijan for our country, crashed near the Georgia-Azerbaijan border,” says the statement.
“Search and rescue operations have begun in coordination with Georgian authorities,” the statement added.
