Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with EEU countries increased by approximately 9% PM says
Addressing the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Minsk, Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asdov has said that the trade turnover of Azerbaijan with EEU countries has increased by approximately 9 per cent.
Report informs that PM Asadov attended the meeting as a guest.
Asadov said that Azerbaijan has close bilateral relations with the partner states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).
“A reliable and intensive political dialogue at the highest level is a clear proof of this. Since the beginning of this year, the Presidents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Belarus have paid a state visit to Azerbaijan, and the President of Azerbaijan has made a working visit to Russia.”
Calling the area of economic and commercial cooperation a priority area of mutual activity, Asadov noted that, according to the results of 2023, the trade turnover of Azerbaijan with EEU countries has increased by approximately 9 per cent.
Drawing attention to the positive dynamics of mutual investment activity, the Prime Minister noted that there are a number of new bilateral investment projects on the agenda aimed at the long-term perspective.
Touching on the cooperation in the field of transport and transit, Asadov emphasized that Azerbaijan's efforts today are aimed at strengthening the transit potential of the country and increasing the cargo flow on international corridors running through its territory.
Thanks to its reliable and modern transport infrastructure, Azerbaijan contributes to the development of international transport corridors, especially the North-South and East-West corridors.
Emphasizing the importance of cooperation in green energy and the fight against the consequences of climate change, the Prime Minister informed the meeting participants about the successfully implemented renewable energy projects.
