Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia explore strengthening bilateral ties, demining efforts

Azerbaijani Defence Minister Col-Gen Zakir Hasanov has hosted a Saudi military delegation who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, Minister Hasanov emphasized the importance of developing relations between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia, which are based on the principles of friendship and brotherhood, Caliber.Az reports citing the Defence Ministry.

He noted that this issue remains a priority for Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Minister Hasanov expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia's participation in the 5th Azerbaijan International Defence Exhibition (ADEX), held in Baku on September 24-26.

The Defence Minister also briefed the delegation on the ongoing demining efforts in areas liberated after Azerbaijan's victory in the Patriotic War, and thanked Saudi Arabia for its support in this important task.
