Azerbaijan scraps visa requirements for Japanese, South Korean visitors
01 July 2026 09:42
Azerbaijan has introduced a one-year visa-free travel regime for citizens of Japan and South Korea, allowing tourists from the two countries to visit without a visa as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral ties and boost the tourism sector.
The new rules took effect on July 1 and will remain in force until July 1, 2027, according to Azerbaijan's State Migration Service.
Under the temporary arrangement, holders of ordinary passports from Japan and the Republic of Korea may enter Azerbaijan without a visa for tourism purposes up to three times during the one-year period.
Each visit may last for up to 30 days.
