Azerbaijan security chief attends CIS security council meeting

Head of the State Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Ali Naghiyev, has taken part in the 58th meeting of the Council of Heads of Security and Special Services of CIS member states.

According to Caliber.Az, citing the State Security Service, the meeting focused on strengthening regional security and adopted a series of decisions aimed at enhancing cooperation among member states.

Participants reviewed the outcomes of counter-terrorism operations conducted in recent years and outlined further steps for joint action. They also agreed on new formats of cooperation to combat transnational terrorism and religious extremism.

The Council highlighted the importance of developing a conceptual framework on the use of artificial intelligence in the work of security agencies, noting that its implementation could significantly enhance scientific capacity and operational effectiveness.

During the session, Ali Naghiyev delivered a detailed report on emerging threats to international stability, the security of transport and communication routes, and new manifestations of terrorism. He stressed the importance of information sharing and coordination between partner agencies, particularly amid a complex geopolitical environment.

The meeting concluded with the signing of documents aimed at strengthening multilateral cooperation in the field of security.
